RESEARCH

Through a collaborative effort that brings together senior researchers with younger scientists, undergraduate students, postdocs, and graduates from the best national and international universities, we will contribute to expanding the frontier of knowledge, as well as scientific evidence into policy recommendations in the following three areas:

FRICTIONS

We will identify the legal, institutional, and market imperfection barriers to immigrant integration with an emphasis on the study of how immigrants’ legal consciousness and legal status affects the accessibility and labor status, as well as the extent to which fintech technologies can facilitate the labor and economic integration of migrant groups.

CULTURAL AND

INSTITUTIONAL

FRICTIONS

The aim is to characterize the integration process of immigrants, specifically by studying the integration of children in the school system; immigrants’ access to financial services and labor markets; and the contribution of highly educated immigrants (such as doctors) to strengthening the capacities of the state through the provision of public goods and services.
